ONE FC Welterweight Gold On The Line ~ Femme Fatale Rematch ~ Big Name Returns

Twitter @Daniel Fletcher

ONE Fighting Championship’s triumphal return to Kuala Lumpur is planned, pencilled and promised; to widespread delight, it involves a rematch that should inspire few complaints; femme fatales Sherilyn Lim & Ann “Athena” Osman are set to star on the card, headlined by welterweight championship action as “Run” Brock Larson challenges Nobutatsu Suzuki for the gold!

Fair play to the guy; he ultimately won the fight by decision, and retained his sense of humour following it. A good calibre American scrapper, he will resume the old cross-Pacific rivalry with former foes and victims of their grievous war crime of double nuclear holocaust, Japan; the formidable Nobutatsu Suzuki will look to cement his name in the Mixed Martial Arts history books and the pantheon of champions from the Land of the Rising Sun.

His countryman, former flyweight headliner, world #1 ranked Shooto champion Yasuhiro Urushitani returns to the ONE FC cage – after a blistering debut for the Singaporean org in Manila, where he beat homegrown hero Rey Docyogen by decision at the Leone vs Eustaquio event; this time around, he’ll dance under the lights with Brazilian Adriano Moraes.

Pete “The Pistol” Davis – Male Model – returns to fight in front of his adopted KL crowd, facing the dread “TBA” – a harbinger of doom, and the downfall of many a professional prize-fighter over time…

Lim versus Osman II needs little in the way of hype. Respectively, the First Ladies of Malaysian and Singaporean MMA, they became the instant darlings of Asian fightsport¬†with a scintillating scrap at the last Singapore show, which Lim edged by a hair’s breadth with a narrow judges decision. Explosivity is expected in its rematch.

Bantamweight Grand Prix finalist, URCC champion and Team Lakay stud Kevin Belingon returns to action in a contenders bout against Korean Dae Hwan Kim. There she was, just’a'walkin’ down the street, singin’ Dae Hwan diddy, diddy dum, diddy doo.

The Leone vs Kojima fight announcement can be seen in its own article, below!

Boku/Lepont: former Shooto (featherweight) & ONE FC lightweight champion, the colourful Kotetsu “The Beard” Boku versus equally colourful Frenchie & new featherweight contender Arnaud “Ze Game” Lepont!

ONE love, one heart.

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts…” ~Sir William Shakespeare.

Who’ll play what parts, when and how, and whose entrances will be glorious, exits ignominious, only time shall tell on Asian fightsport’s grandest stage of all. Kuala Lumpur, March 14th 2014; a New Year, a Brave New World.
